Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do I book a course / workshop? To book your place you have to go to our booking page - https://www.petitvolant.com/booking On this page, you have the option to select ALL, COURSES or WORKSHOPS / OPEN TRAININGS. ALL means that you will see everything that we have available for booking in our space. The classes will be displayed in periods of 7 days, so in order to see past / future events you will have to use the buttons PREVIOUS DAYS / FOLLOWING DAYS to go through the calendar. COURSES means you will see all the courses available for booking, and in this format you don’t need to go through the calendar; all courses will be displayed in a chronological sequence. You just need to scroll down the page. WORKSHOPS/OPEN TRAININGS work the same way as courses, but in this case you will be able to see only the workshops and open trainings available for booking. IMPORTANT: Our courses are available on a monthly basis, so every month we have new terms for all our courses starting in the first week.
-
When do courses start? Our courses are available monthly on a fixed day and time (please check our Timetable Page). They always begin in the first week of the month and run for 4 or 5 weeks, depending on the calendar.
-
Can I enrol in a course after it started?Normally, no. However, depending on the course we make exceptions and allow students to enrol after the course has already started. That's why you are going to see on our booking page courses that are running for 3 weeks - this means that the first week has already passed but you still can enrol for the remaining 3 weeks of the term.
-
I want to book a course for the following term next month but I can't see it on the website. Why?Every month we have new terms for all our courses starting in the first week. If you don't see a course available for booking on the website, it is because this course is currently full and we need to wait until the booking priority period is over to check if there will be places available for new students. Booking Priority - Students enrolled in our courses have booking priority for the following month, so they receive a link in advance and have 5 days to book their place. After the booking priority period is over (around the 25th of the month), we make all the remaining places available for booking on the website. In case a course is not fully booked for the term, we make drop-in classes available for booking throughout the month (except beginners).
-
The course I want to enrol in is already full. Can I put my name on a waiting list?Yes. If you are interested in a course but it is currently fully booked, you can send a message to info@petitvolant.com and we can add your name to our waiting list. Once there is a spot available, you will be contacted by email.
-
What kind of clothes should I wear for the practice? We ask all participants to come to the class with comfortable clothes that allow their bodies to move freely. We recommend that you wear leggings with no zippers and a top that can be tucked in. All jewellery must be removed before the class begins - in case you have any item that cannot be removed, you must cover it with a plaster or a bandage. More info is available on the SAFETY tab that you can access before you make a booking, and also in our Terms and Conditions.
-
How do I know my level? On the CLASSES page there is a brief description of each discipline and the different levels. If you are not sure about your level, please send a message to info@petitvolant.com and we will help you with the assessment. It is very important that you make sure you book a course/class suitable to your level, otherwise you might not be able to participate in the session.
-
Can I change/cancel a booking? How do I do that?In the case of one-off classes/workshops, you may cancel your place and get a full refund up to 5 days (120 hours) prior to the class/workshop. After this period, we are unable to give refunds. In the case of terms/courses/summer camps with more than one class/workshop, you are entitled to a full refund if you cancel it up to 5 days (120 hours) before the first class of the term/course/summer camp. After this period, we are unable to give refunds. In the case of open trainings, you may cancel your place and get a full refund up to 5 hours prior to the session. After this period, we are unable to give refunds. In the case of private classes, you are entitled to a full refund if you cancel it up to 24 hours before the class. After this period, we are unable to give refunds. In the case of special private sessions with 2 or more people, to get a full refund, individual cancellations must be made up to 5 days (120 hours) before the session. We only accept individual cancellations if the total number of students does not fall under the agreed minimum number required for this session. To get a full refund, the entire special private session must be cancelled up to 1 day (24 hours) before it starts. After these periods, we are unable to give refunds. You can change / cancel your booking by signing into your account on our website, selecting your booking and clicking on Change or Cancel. Alternatively, you can access the confirmation email you received from us and click on the orange button at the bottom of it. If you have any issues changing/cancelling your booking, please send a message to info@petitvolant.com and we will provide assistance.

I will not be able to attend all the classes of the course this term. Can I just book the classes I will be able to attend? No. If you want to enrol in a course, the only option is to book the entire term. In some cases we open drop-in classes during the term - please refer to the question about drop-in classes to learn more about them. You can also avail of 1 make-up session during the term - please refer to the question about missed classes to learn more about them.
-
What happens if I miss a class? No refunds or credits are given for missed classes. Every student can avail of 1 make-up session per term for missed classes, and students have until 2 weeks after the missed class to use it. If a student miss more than 1 class in a term, they will still be entitled to only 1 make-up session for that term. Make-up sessions take place during open trainings, which are self-led sessions (it is not a class). So if you miss a class, you can book one of these sessions online, give the date of your missed class and train on the aerial equipment for the whole length of the open training. Make-up sessions are not cumulative, which means that they cannot be brought over to the next term. So if a student does not use a make-up session in a given term, they will not be entitled to an extra make-up session in the following term. You cannot cancel a make-up session. This is because you cannot 'make up a make-up session'. So if you book your place but for whatever reason are not able to attend it, you will not be entitled to a new make-up session for your missed class in a given term. Make-up sessions are not available for Kids and Teens courses because these sessions take place during open trainings with no coaches. Therefore, for safety reasons we do not allow underage students to participate in open trainings. Courses, classes and workshops are non-transferable via our system. This is to ensure that all participants in the class are at a similar level and that the class progress is not hindered.

As a Petit Volant's student, do I have booking priority for the following term?Yes, you do. Students enrolled in a course always have booking priority for the following term. You will receive a link to book your place 5 days before we make any untaken places available for booking on the website. IMPORTANT: if a student cancel their participation in the course for whatever reason, they automatically lose the booking priority and their participation in the following term will depend on the availability of places.
-
Do you offer taster classes/workshops for beginners?Yes, we do. You can find more information on that on the Taster Workshops page on our website. In case you don't find a date that suits you, please send a message to info@petitvolant.com showing your interest in a specific taster class and we will add your name to our list and contact you once we have a date for the class.
-
Are there drop-in classes available? If a course is not fully booked, we occasionally offer some drop-in classes (but never for beginners’ courses). We limit the availability of drop-in classes for a few reasons. For instance, depending on the course, drop-ins might hinder the progress of the class. If a student with little experience book a drop-in, the teacher might have to spend too much time teaching the basics for this student, and this can negatively affect the experience of other participants. So it depends on the teacher and on the level of the students she/he is working with. That is why we don't have a specific rule for drop-ins, we normally decide case by case. The classes that allow for drop-ins will be available on the booking page even after the course has started.
-
I have no previous experience with Aerial Circus, can I attend an open training? No, you can't. Open trainings are self-led sessions where participants can practice the movements and consolidate the skills they learned in aerial classes. Only students with at least a basic knowledge and skills in Aerial Circus are entitled to participate in open trainings. If you are not sure about your level, please send a message to info@petitvolant.com and we will help you with the assessment. Open training is not a class – participants train on their own, without a coach. There will always be an instructor in the studio to make sure participants are following the safety guidelines. IMPORTANT: for safety reasons, participants are not allowed to teach other students during these sessions.
-
Do I have to share the equipment/apparatus in open trainings?Yes. Depending on the number of participants, you might have to share your equipment during the session. If you require an equipment exclusively for yourself (no sharing), please contact info@petitvolant.com for private bookings.
